Make Mine A Convertible!

Lisa Geiger

On Saturday, September 25th, The Bel Air Corvette Club will line the main street of THE AVENUE with a display of over 50 Corvettes.  This group has hosted shows at the center in year's past and always participates in the holiday parade.  They've even helped us out by carrying Santa and Mrs. Claus in a red shiny sleighs...Corvettes...as we welcomed them to White Marsh in 2008!

The Bel Air Corvette Club, "BACC", began in 1974 and currently boasts over 200 members.  The group belongs to the umbrella group known as the National Counci of Corvette Clubbs, "NCCC", which has over 18,000 members across the country.  That's a lot of shiny Corvettes.

Ravens Fever is in the Air. Are you ready?

Peter Tebin

The countdown to the first game of the real season is only weeks away but the excitement continues to build as more and more preseason games get played. I know I am ready to put on my Ray Rice jersey and get rowdy watching our Baltimore Ravens. The question is are you ready?

A quote I heard before from a die hard fan went like this " The difference between a die hard Raven fan and a regular fan is a die hard fan has their jersey, has their Ravens hat, has the rest of the goodies to go along while the regular fan just tells people they root for the Ravens". So remember that the next time you tell someone you're a Ravens fan.

All across town and even in The Avenue the talk is about how good we are, what everyone needs before the season and who will have big seasons. The talk will continue as we hope for big years out of Anquan, Terrence Cody and some of the new additions plus talks of what our veterans will bring to the table. The obvious conclusion is we all know Ray will bring his A game.  It's about how he gets the rest of the team to respond!

Stop in Great Moments for all your Ravens needs including brand new items such as onesies that say I am too cute to be a Steelers fan and a toaster that burns the Ravens shield into your toast! So stop in and say hi while you experience a great sports atmosphere. Also, Anquan Boldin tickets are on sale -  get yours today!

So Many Peaches!

Wilson's Farm Market

THE AVENUE at White Marsh Farmers’ Market is open every Friday – 10am-1pm and if you stop by, you will want to pick up some peaches!  Although I have prepared peaches in many different ways, I wanted to share a couple of my favorite recipes.

Each very different…but, equally as good!

Panting Dogs

Michele Gerard

Most of us know that we should never leave a dog in a hot car.   Yet sometimes we see dogs in a hot car while the owner runs a "quick errand".  Erronously, they may believe the dog will be ok since the windows are down, or they leave the car running and the air conditioner on.  There are 2 points I want to make about why this scenario can cause severe injury in dogs.

First, in a non-moving vehicle the air conditoner can contribute to increased carbon monoxide in the car.  You may have heard of carbon monoxide related deaths in cars that are running in enclosed spaces.  Even in the open air, the exhaust can travel back in to the interior of the car in the right concentration to cause serious problems in dogs (and even death).

Planning A Birthday Party?

Lisa Geiger

If you are a parent, you've more than likely experienced that  feeling of panic when looking and the calendar and realizing you need to come up with some sort of plan for your child's upcoming birthday!  Most of us seem to struggle with two things - the expense...and even more...the originality of the plan.

While THE AVENUE offers quite a few activities that many include in their celebration - food, movies and banquet rooms -  I was recently contacted by a parent who was looking to create her own unique celebration by hosting a birthday event for her daughter throughout the property.  THE AVENUE is one of her daughter's favorite spots so she came to us with a basic idea and together we finalized a plan to include t-shirt decorating with supplies from A.C. Moore, a scavenger hunt and trivia game centered around shopping at THE AVENUE and dinner at our newest addition, Z-Burger!    We were happy to be of assistance to make this work and the Main Plaza will provide a gathering place as well as a nice setting for the crafts and other activities.
