Updated Youth Escort Policy
In 2005, THE AVENUE at White Marsh took the first step in enhancing its Safety and Security Program by instituting a 9pm Youth Escort Policy.
In cooperation with our local law enforcement, government officials and business neighbors,
THE AVENUE at White Marsh Youth Escort Policy will be in effect at 5pm on Fridays and Saturdays – beginning March 8, 2019.
*Please note - This policy for visitors under the age of 17, or without proof of age, continues to be in effect at 9pm, Sunday through Thursday.
The complete policy can be found here: HTTP://WWW.THEAVENUEATWHITEMARSH.COM/FAQS/
With this in mind, we offer the following overview of our enforcement practices to begin March 8, 2019. We ask that parents provide the guidance our young visitors require.
On Fridays and Saturdays –
ALL unsupervised visitors, under the age of 17 or without proof of age, are required to have transportation from THE AVENUE at White Marsh prior to 5pm.
Any underage employee, working at THE AVENUE when this policy is in effect, is considered under the supervision of their Manager. Transportation off the property is to occur at the end of their shift and immediately upon leaving their place of employment.
At 5pm, all unsupervised visitors under 17 or without proof of age are in violation of the center’s Youth Escort Policy – which is subject to a 3 month barring from the property. This barring period does not allow for return during the 3 month time period - with or without supervision.
*** Parents – Your child may choose to leave the property to avoid barring. Please ensure their transportation arrives before 5pm if your expectation is that they will be picked up at THE AVENUE at White Marsh.
By 4pm, our team will begin reminding young visitors of our policy. Those not patronizing one of our businesses will be asked to make arrangements for transportation immediately. It is our expectation that visitors respect the direction given by our property representatives. Please ensure your child is aware of our Rules of Etiquette.
This information can be found here: HTTP://WWW.THEAVENUEATWHITEMARSH.COM/FAQS/
By 4pm, young visitors waiting for rideshare pick-ups will be directed to wait at a designated location in front of Barnes & Noble where parking is reserved for these vehicles. Rideshare pick-ups for those under 17 or without proof of age are to be scheduled so as to have transportation from the property by 5pm.
*** Parents - please remember, contracts/accounts with Uber and Lyft state riders are to be 18 or older or require adult supervision. Young people utilizing an adult’s account can be denied service. In addition, these vehicles have restrictions on the number of people they may transport. Groups over the limit will not be picked up.
At 5pm, all unsupervised visitors under 17 or without proof of age (including those who state they are waiting for their ride) will be in violation of the center’s Youth Escort Policy.
For those with children visiting AMC Theatres:
On Fridays & Saturdays, PG-13 screenings will typically sell out in advance. Once sold out, unsupervised children without tickets will not be permitted access to the theatre.
Young visitors with tickets to an AMC screening after 5pm on Fridays and Saturdays must have adult supervision up until the scheduled screening begins. AMC will not permit unsupervised children to wait in the theatre lobby for any extended period of time regardless of ticket purchase. Unsupervised children, under the age of 17 or without proof of age, observed in the AMC theatre lobby beyond a 10 minute timeframe may be directed to exit the theatre. All screenings after 9pm require a parent/guardian 21 or older to purchase a ticket and remain throughout the screening with any child/children under the age of 17.
Visitors under 17 or without proof of age, leaving a screening at AMC Theatres after 5pm, must have transportation from the property before exiting the theatre. Movie goers under the age of 17 or without proof of age and waiting for their ride after 5pm inside AMC, may be directed to leave the building.
At 5pm, all unsupervised children under 17 or without proof of age (including those who state they are waiting for their ride) will be in violation of the center’s Youth Escort Policy.
Parents can verify their child’s movie screening times to coordinate a timely pick-up by visiting the theatre’s website here: HTTPS://WWW.AMCTHEATRES.COM/MOVIE-THEATRES/BALTIMORE/AMC-WHITE-MARSH-16/SHOWTIMES
Young visitors 17 and older should be prepared to present identification before entering the theatre. Identification will be required with or without a movie ticket.
For those with children visiting White Marsh Mall:
At no time should a child be directed to leave the Mall at 5pm and wait for a ride at THE AVENUE. In these instances, young people will be offered the opportunity to wait in a designated location and will be issued a 3 month barring for violation of our Youth Escort Policy.
